On Another Note, Check The Level Of The Oil In The Gear Box. Mine Only Came With A Thimble Full & I Didn't Notice Until Too Late. Burned Up 3 Bearings. Also The Shifter Has A Spring Tension Adjustment Screw On Top, It Might Help Free It Some If It Seems Too Hard To Shift Between Gears By Loosening It A Bit. Also If The Idle Is Too High, & It Consistently Scratches When Shifting, Lower Your Idle A Bit To Avoid Problems Later On.

I found that if its not going into gear just raise the idle a little while pushing on the shifter and that allows it to flow into gear like butter, well frozen butter, but its still butter! Thats how i've resolved the issue and I warn anyone who drives our buggies to do the same. just for the record I didnt think you were out of line either.
Yep, If you can let it roll forward a couple inches and that will work too! The main thing is to keep and eye on the linkage if it starts to get loose and don't rev the engine until you're sure it's in gear. I avoid reverse as much as I can just to be on the safe side and when I do, its with my hand holding it in gear too.... Again, an ounce of prevention.............
