Hey guys. I have this Kart and I'm sick of frying belts every time I go muddin or through water. I was looking at the Honda GX270RA with the wet clutch setup. I like that the clutch is fully enclosed. I also like the idea of some extra power for this relatively light Kart. I currently have the 6.5 Tecumseh and a TAV2 Comet clutch. The suspension and frame components are really easy to replace or work on, so I don't want to get rid of it for a REAL kart. (I know! :):)). And my kid loves it too, so does anyone have any thoughts on how this wet clutch would hold up "offroad" versus how these are usually setup in street Karts? Honda even markets these in the advertising at the bottom of the description as great for hill climbing. I know I won't have the variable like CVT engagement with this centrifugal style clutch, but do you think it will handle offroading for awhile? A rebuild kit for the clutch is only 80 or 90 bucks on ebay. I would be happy if I got close to a year out of the clutch, versus the bye bye belt I get when I hit major mud or water with my current setup.
