Thanks for the info from pghruby and that solved my carb problem. I am trying to get this running for my Grandaughter. Starter makes one click when button mashed but will not turn over. I hooked a larger battery to it and same thing. How do I check the starter? It turned over recently before all the carb work.

First check your battery and ground wires for a good connection. Short across the two solenoid lugs - If it cranks, the solenoid is bad or the starter switch is failing (remember there is a brake interlock safety switch also). If it still does not crank, you will need to remove the starter and test it while removed - If the starter cranks over fine, remove the air shroud on the right side of the engine and turn the engine over by hand to make sure it is not binding. If starter and engine is fine, it is the starter clutch - This will have to be another post.
