OK, let's see if we can put together in one place the knowledge gained over the years about the Carter Brothers GTR 250 and 300. There are literally thousands of these things out there and people need support. This will be an ongoing thread. If you post a solution or part that will work, I will add it to the top post so that we will have it there.

BigE will have part #s for the following:
Racing Variator: Malossi Multivar 2000, Malossi Clutch.

These Carbs will fit your GTR, note that the intake on the head is 30mm, so larger bore carbs will require a custom made intake manifold that tapers down to 30m, or you can go balls out and get head work done. This is hands down the biggest performance booster you can do on this air starved buggy.

Mikuni TM 33mm flatslide pumper
MRP 30mm
Keihin PWK 28 and 30mm
Dellorto 30mm roundslide pumper

How about a parts and service manual for that GTR? click here!
https://buggynews.com//carter-gtr-250-service-manual-enjoy-t10808.html

Click this link if you keep bending that stump guard on rocks:
https://buggynews.com/post176126.html#p176126

If one of you ever need these bearings:
Carriers bearings are 6205-2RS (4 pieces)
Axle bearing are 6008-2RS (2 pieces) for diff. back axle

SYM 250 engines? These vehicles also use the same engine as your 250cc GTR:
E-ton Vector 250
Can-Am DS250
TGB Blade 250
Dealim ET 250
Sym Quadlander 250

CV Boots: EMPI CV boot kit- part# 86-1188-D

Struts:

The hammerhead 250 struts will work on the GTR, but you also need to swap out the brake calipers and hubs. Check the bolt pattern on your front rims. This requires a 4x110 bolt pattern.

If you have the skills, my favorite solution is this : https://buggynews.com/wreck-s-gtr-strut-mod-t26008.html

More to come....LOTS more. GTR owners please post your finds and I will add them to this as we go.

Anyone know if there is an aftermarket cdi available for the GTR 250? I also need a new ignition switch.

A buddy and me were doing some research cross referencing brands and parts for the GTR. And then we came across this article. Does anyone know what happened after this verdict in 2012??

http://www.dothaneagle.com/news/million ... 70082.html

It looks like Carterbros.com is still down, but Carterbro.com is under construction with a 2016 copyright.

From go-karts to pecans. It makes perfect sense.

Pecans? Really? Wow.
I wonder if there any good. And if they are, will you be able to purchase more in the future?

That's what went through my head as well. So they won the lawsuit and decided to just sell pecans. From buggies, go karts, and scooters to just nuts.

Yeah we were wondering about others getting paid, and if the insurance company appealed and got it reduced. Or if Carter lost if/when the insurance company appealed.
Just was curious if anybody knew what happened.

Do they torch these pecans there inside the factory themselves?

I'm trying to fix a GTR Interceptor and am having trouble locating a gas tank for it. Does anyone happen to have one or know where I may find one? TIA

Can't say that I've ever seen the fuel tank for sale anywhere for the GTR. You might just have to repair the one you have, have a new one made(I'm sure this would cost a good bit of dinero), or mount a fuel cell on the rack and switch to gravity feed.
Sorry, wish I could help you.

i agree. i have not seen one for sell. it would be cheaper to fabricate one to fit like stock, or to buy one and mount it high. if you want to fab one let me know i can get you dimensions.

300cc motor parts can be had through Yamaha. The Grizzly 300 uses the Sym 300 except it has a High/Low shaft drive trans.

Front hubs and rotors from a 87 trx250 are a direct replacement but have a 4x110 bolt pattern.
