the 9 grams will make the engine rev higher at a given speed, the kit i have comes with the main spring, the 9 gram sliders are like an 7-8 gram roller. lots of hill climbing power but a lose of top speed.

what kind of buggy is it? and whats it doing

if its an 04 then check the rear sprocket it should be a 39 tooth. and it will have lower gearing in the case as well. so you could go back with a heavier roller or slider and get the top speed back. I think the 7th digit of the vin# tells the year

what size would you reccomend? most of the driving i do is on fast trails and all my buddies are on 4 wheelers im not looking to beat them just keep up. do you sell the main spring and rollers or sliders? i went through awesome buggies for all my parts and i even told them that i was looking for more speed and the lady i was talking to said to use the 9 gram sliders. im used to working on 4 wheelers and this buggy seems like a completely different type of drive train.

sounds like you have the mountian goat gearing in there. so for more speed you can go with a heavier roller or slider, have you weighed the rollers that came out? I will look when I get to the store what gram sliders I have in stock.

Yes i have all the springs and rollers sliders and all the rest. Take a look on my websight.

How far from ST. Catherines are you? I have friends that live there.

i havent been able to weigh the rollers because the only scale i have is a fish scale and i dont want to buy a gram scale for what seems to me as a one time use. can i change my internal gearing or just stick with what i have?

If you take your rollers to the self service scale at the post office, you can get the ounce measurement and convert to grams. I suggest you weigh all of them together and divide the total by the number of rollers being weighed.

yep thats what I would do also. I would not change the internal gearing, just go with a heavier roller. I have some 13 gram sliders that would help get back some speed and you could also go with a 32 tooth sprocket from a 05 talon gx150iir

Upgrading to 22" tall tires would also increase gearing if he is still running the stock size...

You're on your way to better matched gearing. I suggest 10g rollers or 12g sliders to get your gearing to spool up. Once you have these in place, see if you hit the right balance of speed and power.

One of my Yerfs runs a Tomberlin reverse so I have a 16t final drive sprocket. Although it's great on flats, I prefer the original 13t for low end since I like technical terrain over flats. I replaced both of my 31t axle sprockets with 39t and love the low end gains. If you are running 22's, I think the 31t will be too high for you and you should look for a 34-36t sprocket if you are in search of more speed.
