I have a Howhiet gy6 that at about 6000 to 7000 rpm it begins to "studder". It has a brand new chi and coil, valve lash is set to .004 and the carb is clean. Ibalsobtried messing with the fuel/air mixture screw with no result.
I know for a fact I am not hitting the rev limiter. I barely go like 15mph. Ok valve springs are on ny list. Is there anything else I should check? I checked the spark today and I looked pretty weak. Kinda yellowish

check the wires connection at coil make sure there clean and tight. cdi the wires plugging into cdi make sure there plugged in good, they push back in the plug sometimes also check ground wires were they bolt down tight and clean no paint
Have you checked your CVT and your rollers in your variator. Also if you are having issues with it stuttering at high rpm have you checked your intake. If the intake gets old or dry rotted and starts to leak you wont hit your max rpm.

No I haven't checked the cut in a while and I'm running everything stock. I checked the intake manifold by spraying carb cleaner around it. Could the cut be the thingy holding it back? Also at idle its really weird. One minute it will idle just fine and the next it will start walking on its own.
