Here is my fourth attempt at a Jolaris swap. I thought I had documented my original 500 swap but guess I didn't. I just finished one for a BN member but didn't feel it was my place to show case his buggy. Seeing as I am doing another one for me I thought I would pass on my take on this very worthwhile conversion. Yes I have done the 400 2 stroke swap but was never really happy with it. Too temperamental for my taste.

Here I am modifying my spool to move the sprocket over and to accept a Polaris sprocket. On the conversion I did for the BN member I made an adapter for his spool just in case he would ever need to replace it. I will weld a new flange on mine and machine it down for the split sprockets that I have run on both my conversion with no problems.

File comment: Here is what it looks like cut off. Joyner actually has a raised area just for the flange.

Good luck my friend. I'm sure it'll be first class as always. :D

P.S. - still patiently waiting for you to build one from the ground up

Those holes dont line up exactly but better than I expected. For making cradles for folks maybe you could have them measure there width spacing to help take out some of the offset. Looking good better get busy though.

I do plan to do one, it is kind of in the works. For now I am going to have to be happy with this. The scratch build will be a 4x4 tho. A friend has a nice quad for me as a donor I just need to pull the trigger on it and get going. Since I have retired I have been busier than a one arm paper hanger.

Taking notes as I watch. :D

Just need to find a good (inexpensive) donor Polaris. Still keeping my eyes open for a 150 as well for you.

Thanks guys.

Should have some more pictures tomorrow. Worked on the spool and bearing and sprocket relocation, just didn't get any pictures yet.

Worked on the spool today. It is now in the cradle so now I can locate the transmission. Things should move a little quicker now...I hope any way.

If you look at the last picture on my last post I took a sharpie and marked the area where the bearings ride so you can see how much it is moved to the right.

This is a spool adapter I did on the Joyner I converted for BN member. We opted for this just incase he needed to replace it later for what ever reason. So a stock spool could be used.
