1 ~ ALways try to have everything grounded to the motor. All your power is generated inside the motor and the connection between the motor and the frame is not always great for conductivity. I recently burned up a stator because of that connection.

2 ~ Preferably the motor.

3 ~ Green wire goes to the minus terminal of the battery.

Ok done that...also i short circuit the starter relay, the starter motor is spinning.....however to fire it up i need to add the tank. Before i do that i want to also add the ignition switch to my harness..

My ignition switch has 5 wires, since i do not have lights i will not need all of them right....???

so now which wires do i need to connect from my harness to the switch to be able to fire up the engine and also turn it off?

Hey, everything is ready to fire up the buggy....i only need to add the ignition switch, can you please help me with this last bit.

My ignition switch has 5 wires, since i do not have lights i will not need all of them right....???

so now which wires do i need to connect from my harness to the switch to be able to fire up the engine and also turn it off?

I am guessing the two battery terminals are the 2 out of 5 wires that need to be connected to the switch......do i need anything else other than that?

I have one problem.......This is what i have done up to now

1) stator is connected to the CDI
2) Ignition coil is connected to the CDI
3) Ignition coil is grounded
4) CDI is grounded

5) install the battery on the buggy
6) ground the battery on the frame + motor
7) connect starter relay to battery
8 ) connect starter relay to starter motor

9) stator is grounded
10) stator connected to rectifier

however when i short the relay terminals with a wire, lots of sparks come out and the wire that i am using gets really hot, and if let there it will melt, however the motor starter is spinning.

what have i done wrong?

i also added the ignition switch and the same thing happens, i get no sparks but the wires get really hot.

What wire are you using to short the terminal?

Please help, my stator only has 3 wires. Harness was copped and ignition removed. Supposed to be a ac cdi but wired as a dc (2 ground). I'm going insane. I ordered a new harness with cdi coil and other goodies. This isn't my original stator, I have the wiring diagram and the parts call ac cdi on original parts.
