Kart: 2007 Baja Reaction internal reverse

The Drama continues!!!

I got a forward/ reverse cable, put it on and it worked great. Until I had a vacuum leak at intake manifold causing the kart to idle high right when I put it in forward violently jerk forward. After that there was a lot of resistance when putting it gear and it was touchy between F N and R.

I took everything apart and noticed the gears were all in ok shape. In image B the rod outlined in green that the gear selector cable attached to has become really tough to rotate.

I also noticed the copper looking piece outlined in red has some rub marks on it you can really see in image labeled C. I don't see any metal shavings in the gear box though.

Question: Is the copper colored bar outlined in red supposed to be bent like that or is that because I put it in gear at a high idle speed?

Does anyone have one of these with internal reverse with a diagram?

Should I dump this GY6 because its the lesser than version with the 2 head bolt?

I removed the shaft highlighted in green and boy was it a chore. I think its bent every so slightly because getting back in us just as hard. Anyone know where I can get one of these internal reverse units?
