Always looking for more out of our GY6's.

I thought we decided that our stock GY6 based engines would not accomodate the extra diameter of a larger cylinder sleeve. I am pretty sure my block will not accept it and I know my stock cylinder sleeve is too thin to bore out any more. I know there are GY6 makers out there (scooters) that can accomodate a larger cylinder but I do not believe our buggies will.

BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WON'T FIT, I AM JUST GUESSING!

I would like to be proved wrong though, please enlighten us.

I posted this pick somewhere else, I think it might be the kit James Lee is referring to, the cyclinder dia is 61mm, the carb size is 26mm, comes with new head performance cam etc,

James... you can definately post a price and I think a lot of people would appreciate that as we've seen from our poll. Sounds like an awesome kit if it works out.

Man, I'm addicted to these things.

allright, our current bore is 57mm, going to a 61mm bore is 4mm more in dia., thats 2mm on each side right? Well that sounds do-able? I know it is very, and I mean very thin already but that is just at the bottom of the skirt. Without pulling my jug and measuring my block and the space machined in the block for the skirt I can't be 100% sure though.

Surely it WILL work, right?

Just had a thought, James, will the 30mm pumper carb be too much for a 170cc engine? will reduce intake velocity heaps I would think.

Just my thoughts is all

I want to see what it take as for as work on the block.I want to make sure it will work on the kinroad motor. If it takes me sending my block to the shop and have it done and have a print made so it will come with the kit.I am not going to sell one and it not work.I will say what is on the two kits. Stage 1- Cylinder set 61mm,piston kit, cylinder Head 61mm, High RPM cam shaft,Rocher arm assembly,Gy6 top end gasket set, Variator, Racing air filter, timing chain,30mm cv pump carburetor Stage 2 all of stage 1 plus Power intake manifold, high output coil, racing CDI, racing clutch complete, power springs 1500 or 2000 RPM,roller weights 8,9,10or12 gms.You can bye any or all.Look at it and see if it is a kit that you might want.I think they are both people that have just got their buggies.I am only putting the MSRP on nowStage1 - 549.00 Stage 2 649.00 Until I find out all I need to know.James

Any update on the big bore kit guys? I'm looking to do homemade mods at first, and if the figures James Lee posted don't change too much, that looks like a good total package to compliment a 0.040" shaved head.

Cheers,
Gav.
