Has anyone measured (and recorded) the sizes of the larger Yerf Dog cylinder head valve sizes compared to other typical GY6 engine valve sizes?

I am interested in actual sizes of both Yerf and other kart valves (both intake and exhaust).

Thanks.

I measured it but didn't write it down. I remember the intake on the yerf was .1" larger in dia. than the stock.

I also didn't write it out down. But Kelly is right, they are roughly .100" bigger in diameter than all but the Dazon 150's. Which use the same diameter valves, but are approximately .500" longer in length.

Just thought of something else... since the Yerf valves are only slightly larger...

Are the stock (non-Yerf) valve seat inserts big enough that they could be reground with a 3 angle valve job for the larger Yerf valves?

You guys probably thought about this idea too, but just double checking to see if buying a whole new Yerf cylinder head can be avoided.

Also, are the intake and exhaust ports in the Yerf head bigger too?

Thanks again.

I do believe the larger valves would fit in the non-Yerf heads. But I havn't spoken to any machine shops about it. When I did my swap, I had a whole Yerf 3206 to swap the parts with. Ports are the nearly the same.

The valves are sunk quite a bit deeper into the head so you are going to have to machine a lot of aluminum away also. Exhaust valve is not much bigger at all.

My suggestion, by a used yerf dog for around $900, swap the heads, sell the yerf for $800 or maybe even $900. I would have done this but none were available at the time. After I ordered my head, I have seen them in the paper all the time!

Thanks again guys. I might check into this more if I have the engine apart for something else. I might leave good enough alone for now (hard to not tinker on it)... especially since the kart is nearly brand new!

Where did you order your head from? Is it a direct fit? Did you modify it in any way?
