Ok time to kick this mule again! Who wants to ride in April? Sorry Karl I looked into Hillbilly Ranch..... No Buenno!!!!! Heartland resort is the better choice for our style of riding.

So you all need to pick a date... Easter weekend is out, my wifes birthday!!!!
So anytime before or after is acceptable.

Just saw where Heartland resort added another 300 acres to their riding area opening April 1st. Believe they are claiming it's the largest OHV park in the state. From what I understand, they have two parks that are adjoining, one they own completely, and the other was purchased with some DNR funding. So, there are slightly different rules for the latter in that you need the IL sticker in addition to the riding fee. Site says 1200 acres, but I thought that was only about half of it. I thought it was actually 1200, plus 1200 (DNR funded) and now another 300. Not sure if that is right or not.

I can't swing this ride and the big one in June, but would love to check this place out sometime. I don't think they're campground friendly, they seem to want everybody to get a lodge/cabin room and buy their meal plan.

To that, all I can say is.... if you are sick STAY HOME! I remember last year, only it was me that got sick   . No hand shaking,or hugging and for the love of God don't touch my beer, er daddy pop #-o !
I believe if we just use good sense, this could be another ride for sake of riding with good friends. I personally have not ridden my buggy since last Sept. so I'm getting a little antsy. If however anyone thinks we should hold off till late summer,or early fall and try again.... well I'm ok with that.

All those in favor of continuing say "RIDE". All against say.... :-k :-k , "ZOMBIE"   :jawdrop !

In this event of trying times, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you, that you are all safe and healthy!

Heartland has closed to all till April 8th. Ill. has closed any unessential places to close for 30 days,as of Sunday the 22nd. However all state parks are still open! So I am thinking I am going to go to St Joe state park   !! The same weekend as we planned to go to Heartland. I am going to check to see if I can get in by then.
If nobody wants to ride, that is your choice. You all need to do what you feel is right. I however am suffering from serious cabin fever, and my buggy more so than me. It hasn't been out since Sept. last year!!!!!

We went camping just before two-week travel restriction was put into place. I am part of essential services so still have to work daily and end up visiting my workplace about once a week.

The spectrum of how people are acting is wide. Some are in denial and still in close large groups which has caused the increased restrictions and others off in the wilds isolated from the population waiting for the craziness to die down.

I may end up riding gravel roads from Kenny's house to the state line. It will take about 7 hours. So good times!

No kidding? That's really cool.

Hasn't affected me much. Already work from home. Just now, the wife and kid are here all day so a few more distractions.

Wonder if our June ride is in jeopardy.

For now I'm thinking all rides are in jeopardy! HMT is closed until further notice. As of Sunday the 29th, only 2 places were open. Rush Springs in Pineville Mo. and Mid America off road in Jay Oklahoma.

Update: Mulberry Mountain in Arkansas is open, but no contact, and no dumpstations, etc. If you are camping, you must be totally self contained!

There is actually another in Jerseyville, IL area Called Hillbillie Offroad. facebook is hillbillie offroad.

website https://hillbillieoffroad.com

Does have camping and 40miles of trails. There is always some event and usually large trucks and jeeps. May not be "China Buggy" friendly.
I have several friends that rave about it.
Maybe something to ponder.
