Location: Pacific NW
What: Gathering of NW Buggiers

When: October 2nd - 10th

Where: South Jetty - Florence, OR

We're headed out to the South Jetty coastal dunes prior to Columbus Day. We will be staying at our regular camping spot at South Jetty. The campground is a trailer in and out location for ORV/OHV and does not have direct dune access, but we have no problem meeting up with others for the day or at another campground. We will pull out of camp on the 10th to avoid the holiday traffic, so Sunday through Saturday will be ride days.

This is where we will stay: http://www.thousandtrails.com/oregon/south-jetty-rv-camping-resort/

Reservations for non-members is here: http://www.rvonthego.com/oregon/south-jetty-rv-camping-resort/

It's a private park which costs a little more due to amenities, like the pool. Generally the cheapest parks fill up first, but I still think you will have book within 45 days of a holiday to ensure a spot. We have given up on public parks for the holidays because many fill up 6 months in advance.

It's about a mile from the park to the northern entrance. You will have to buy a $5 day pass to park there but there is a break if you buy the $10 5-day pass instead.

A great week of riding with nothing but a snapped belt that happened midweek. This belt had at least 18 months on it maybe even 24, so it lasted a while. No pictures on this trip other than my failed belt. It isn't even one of the stringy melt downs, just a nice clean break for torquing through soft sand with two people.

Weather was in the 60's on the Oregon coast with only two days of rain the entire trip and sun the rest of time. if you don't come to this coast for the sand, come for the seafood. we had a couple of good eats out in the local town.
