Hello All, I have a 2 year old TaoTao 2-seater kart. It has a GK110 engine. The engine has seized up. It did run pretty well with the 110 but it felt like it could get some more top end speed if it had another gear. A little faster would be nice anyway. I'm going to replace the engine. Do any of you know if there is a larger engine that is a drop-in replacement?  Thank you! |

That style of engine is available in a 125cc 4-speed which may be better than the current one. I'm not sure how much fabrication is required for motor mounts, but the unit is very similar in size. |

Lifan has been around for a while building these engines due to the popularity of pit bikes. Do a search for "lifan 125cc semi" to get the auto clutch version. It will pop up from many sellers and is also on Amazon and eBay. |

Your Tao Tao buggy looks very similar to my son's Kandi 110 buggy. I know of no other larger engine that could be swapped in that. The swing arm is very small because it is a kids size buggy and would require cutting, welding, extending & new mounts for a larger engine. There are some big bore kits for this engine that will make it a 125cc for about $60-$80, but you would have to rebuild your current motor. You can also buy a Lifan 125cc with semi-auto (3 speeds forward and reverse) for $320 off ebay that should bolt in. There are pit bikes that use the same engine and you could look at those forums for performance mods too. |

So I bought and received the 125cc engine. The wiring harness on the cart has a 5 wire and a 3 wire. The harness on the new engine is a 5 wire and 4 wire. Do you guys know where I can get an adapter? |

Im going threw this exact search for my niece's tao gk110 as there was a large hole blown outve the block around the crank and shes getting older now and needs more speed |
